【Experimental steps】
1. Physical properties of metals
(1) Observe and describe the color and luster of magnesium, aluminum, iron, and copper.
(2) Use the method of mutual characterization to compare the hardness of copper sheets and aluminum sheets, copper sheets and brass sheets (or cupronickel sheets).
(3) Please design and conduct experiments to prove that metal has electrical conductivity (or thermal conductivity, ductility).
2. Chemical properties of metals
(1) Use crucible pliers to hold a piece of copper, place it on the flame of an alcohol lamp, heat it, and observe the changes on the surface of the copper piece.
(2) Put a small amount of magnesium strips, aluminum flakes, zinc granules, iron flakes, and copper flakes into 5 test tubes, then add 5 mL of dilute hydrochloric acid (or dilute sulfuric acid) respectively, and observe the phenomenon. If gas is generated, determine what gas is generated.
