Ancient India PPT, the third part: Sakyamuni founded Buddhism

Students have all read "Journey to the West". The Monkey King, the Monkey King, assists his master Tang Monk to go to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. In fact, he goes to India to study Buddhist scriptures. So, who is the founder of Buddhism? Think about why Buddhism spreads widely?

Buddhism was founded in the 6th century BC. The founder, Siddhartha Gautama, later known as "Sakyamuni", was a prince of the Sakyamuni tribe in Kapilavastu City in northern India.

Early Buddhism opposed the caste system and the privileges of the first-class Brahmins, so it also received support from the royal family and some wealthy people. Buddhism proposes that "all living beings are equal" and does not refuse people from lower castes to join the religion. Its teachings are easy to understand and the number of people who believe in it is increasing day by day. It once became the state religion of India.

Two external routes

(1) Northern spread: Central Asia → China → Korea → Japan → Vietnam (spread to East Asia) (before BC, spread from Central Asia to China)

(2) Southern transmission: Buddhism spread southward via Ceylon to Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and other countries in Southeast Asia.
