byzantine empire
The Byzantine Empire was another name for the Eastern Roman Empire in the Middle Ages. In Chinese historical records, it is called Da Qin or Fu. In 330 AD, the Roman Emperor Constantine I (about 280-337) established a new capital on the site of Byzantium, an ancient Greek immigrant city, and named it Constantinople. In 395, the Roman Empire split into eastern and western parts. The Eastern Roman Empire had Constantinople as its capital, so it was also called the Byzantine Empire, or Byzantium for short.

The territory of the Eastern Roman Empire included Greece, western Asia, and northern Africa. These areas included Egypt and Syria, which had relatively developed agriculture, and had many metropolitan cities and international trade ports. Therefore, the Eastern Roman Empire had a relatively active economy and a relatively stable society.
After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire continued and entered a "golden age".
Justinian
Justinian was born in 483 in Skopje, Thrace, into a peasant family. His uncle Justin (450-527) was born in the army and was promoted to the commander of the Praetorian Guard due to his meritorious service in battle. In 518, he was proclaimed Emperor of Byzantium as Justinian I. As an adopted son, Justinian assisted Justinian I in formulating important domestic and foreign policies, and received the titles of "Caesar" and "Augustus". In August 527, Justin I died and Justinian became emperor of the Byzantine Empire.

Byzantine Empire and Justinian Code PPT, Part 3: The Destruction of the Byzantine Empire
At the beginning of the 7th century, Byzantine territories in Spain were gradually recaptured by the Visigoths. With the rise of the Arabs, at the end of the 7th century, Egypt and other places in North Africa also fell into the hands of the Arabs. Justinian's dream plan to restore the empire was finally shattered.
process:
(1) In the 7th century, the Arabs occupied large areas of the empire.
(2) In the 9th century, facing attacks from multiple external military forces, the empire's territory was continuously eroded.
(3) In the 11th century, only the Greek countries in the Greek Peninsula and the Aegean Sea region remained.
(4) In 1453, it was destroyed by the Ottoman Turks.
Cause of death:
(1) The long-term war led to the depletion of the empire's finances.
(2) Suffering invasion by foreigners (Germans, Arabs, etc.).
(3) Crusades, sacking of Constantinople and the Byzantine Empire.
