Description
"Renaissance Movement" PPT
Part One: Renaissance
The literal meaning of Renaissance is "revival" and "rebirth", which refers to the rebirth of ancient Greek and Roman culture. Italy is the birthplace of ancient Roman culture, and a large number of ancient cultural relics are preserved here. Later, with the fall of Constantinople, many classical documents preserved in the Eastern Roman Empire flowed into Italy, and a craze for studying ancient Greek and Roman culture arose in Italy. This craze was the Renaissance, which was named after the revival of ancient Greek and Roman culture. In fact, it was a new culture that promoted the liberation of human nature.
Time: 14th century
Location: It originated in Florence, Italy and other industrial and commercial cities, and later spread to other parts of Europe.
Meaning: Some literary artists devoted themselves to the study of ancient Greek and Roman culture, and promoted humanism through literary and artistic creation. This is the Renaissance movement.
Core trend of thought: humanism
It opposes the asceticism, passive endurance, and resignation preached by the Catholic Church. It emphasizes the dignity and value of human beings, believes in human strength, and believes that people should enjoy real life.
People-centered: Praise the power and greatness of people, affirm the value and dignity of people, emphasize people's free will, praise life and nature, and pursue joy and happiness in life.
Essence: The Renaissance is not simply a restoration of the classical culture of ancient Greece and Rome, but a bourgeois ideological and cultural emancipation movement.

Dante was born into a declining aristocratic family in Florence. As a teenager, he studied hard and read a lot of books, and eventually became a versatile and knowledgeable scholar and poet. After the age of 37, he was exiled by the Holy See and lived in various parts of Italy for nearly 20 years. He died in a foreign land at the age of 56. Engels called him "the last poet of the Middle Ages and the first poet of the new era."
①Introduction: He is a pioneer of the Italian Renaissance.

③Evaluation: He is known as the last poet of the Middle Ages and the first poet of the new era.
The Divine Comedy recounts Dante's imaginary journey through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. In hell, he saw the pope being thrown upside down in a cave for buying and selling priesthood, and the corrupt officials struggling in the boiling asphalt. He believed that human beings were "not born to live like animals, but to pursue virtue and knowledge."
