Three land reforms in Chinese history and their significance
The first time was during the Anti-Japanese War (1941), when a land policy was implemented in which landlords reduced rent and interest, and farmers paid rent and interest.
Significance: It alleviated the feudal exploitation of landlords, improved the material life of farmers, increased the enthusiasm of farmers to resist Japan and production, and was conducive to uniting landlords to resist Japan.
The second time was during the People's Liberation War. In 1947, the Communist Party of China held a national land conference and decided to carry out land reform in the liberated areas and formulated the "Outline of China's Land Law". The outline stipulates: Confiscate the land of landlords, abolish the land system of feudal exploitation, implement the land system of land to the tiller, and distribute land equally according to the rural population. In the land reform, the CCP implemented the general line of land reform that relied on poor peasants, united with middle peasants, eliminated the land system of feudal sexual exploitation in a step-by-step and differentiated manner, and developed agricultural production.
Significance: This land policy greatly stimulated farmers' enthusiasm for revolution and production. In order to protect the fruits of victory, the peasants who stood up enthusiastically joined the army and actively supported the front line.
