2. Academic situation analysis

Through the questionnaire survey, I learned that 85% of the students are concerned about the history of Wuhan, and 42% of the students know some historical information about Zhang Zhidong's Westernization in Hubei. Students have a strong interest in local history. Therefore, in the design of this lesson, I made full use of local materials that students are interested in to mobilize students' enthusiasm for learning.

In conclusion:

From the perspective of the Qing government: the Westernization Movement did not realize the aspirations of "self-improvement" and "seeking wealth". It was a failed self-rescue movement for feudal rulers, but it maintained and extended the rule of the Qing Dynasty to a certain extent.

From the perspective of China's modernization: the introduction of Western advanced technology enabled the emergence of the first batch of modern enterprises in China; it promoted the emergence and development of China's national capitalism and opened the way for China's modernization.

From the perspective of world trends: In the collision between agricultural civilization and industrial civilization, the Westernization Movement conformed to the trend of progress in world history.
