1. Hong Xiuquan and the Jintian Uprising
1. Reasons: The Qing government’s ruling crisis deepened; class conflicts became increasingly acute.
2. Preparation Hong Xiuquan founded the "God Worship Association" in 1843 and actively preached, growing the congregation to more than 2,000 people.
3. Uprising On January 11, 1851, Hong Xiuquan launched an armed uprising in Jintian Village, Guiping County, Guangxi, and named it the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The insurgent army was called the "Taiping Army".
4. Yongan establishment Hong Xiuquan was called the "King of Heaven". After conquering Yong'an, he was made king. The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom initially established a political organization.

He wrote "New Chapter on Political Affairs", which proposed a series of political, economic, cultural and diplomatic propositions such as learning from the West and reforming domestic affairs. However, due to limitations of historical conditions at the time, it could not be put into practice.

In 1860, Zeng Guofan's Hunan army surrounded Anqing. Chen Yucheng and Li Xiucheng failed to rescue and Anqing fell. Later Chen Yucheng was captured. Li Xiucheng led his army to conquer Hangzhou and force Shanghai, but was resisted and counterattacked by Li Hongzhang's Huai army and foreign gun troops.
4. The fall of Tianjing
In 1862, the Hunan army besieged Tianjing. Li Xiucheng led his troops back to the division for rescue. They fought fiercely for 40 days, but failed to eliminate the threat posed by the Hunan Army to Tianjing.
In the summer of 1864, Hong Xiuquan died of illness. The Hunan army rushed into the city and Tianjing fell.
It marked the failure of the vigorous Taiping Heavenly Kingdom peasant movement.
The historical significance of the Taiping Rebellion
