Huang Zi (1904-1938) Chinese composer and music educator. The name is Jinwu. A native of Chuansha, Jiangsu (now part of Shanghai).

His main works include the orchestral music "Nostalgia", the oratorio "Song of Everlasting Sorrow", the chorus "Song of Resistance against the Enemy", "The Flag is Flying", the songs "Hot Blood", "September 18", and the art song "Dian Lips" , "Homesickness", "Three Wishes for a Rose", etc.

Liu Xue'an (1905~1985), composer and music educator, was born in Tongliang, Sichuan (now Chongqing).

In 1926, he entered the Chengdu Private Art College to study piano, violin, composition and Kunqu opera. In 1930, he was admitted to the normal section of Shanghai National Music College and studied composition and harmony with Xiao Youmei and Huang Zi. After graduation, he participated in the national salvation singing movement. In 1931, he was admitted to the Shanghai National Music College, majoring in theoretical composition, and studied under Huang Zi. Together with He Luting, he was known as the "Four Disciples of Huang Zi".
