"Let the Lamp Shine" Understanding Circuits PPT Courseware 2

learning target:

1. Understand the composition of circuits through experimental exploration and form the concept of circuits. Cultivate students' analytical and induction abilities, sense of competition and spirit of cooperation.

2. Know the types of circuits including paths, open circuits and short circuits, and know the dangers of short circuits in power supplies.

3. Know the symbols of common circuit components and be able to draw them skillfully.

4. Know what a circuit diagram is and be able to draw a simple circuit diagram.

5. Initially cultivate awareness of safe operation during operation.

Self-study requirements:

1. Use the equipment on the desktop and try to connect them to make the small light bulb shine, and use the switch to control its lighting and extinguishing. Compete to see who can make the little lightbulb shine first?

2. Congratulations on completing the first step! You have constructed a simple circuit. So, what is a circuit? What parts does a basic circuit consist of? What is the function of each part?

3. Close and disconnect the switch on the circuit, and observe the lighting conditions of the bulb; summarize what are the conditions for the bulb to continue to glow? Does the light bulb glow when the switch is closed? Do it and see.

Conditions for the light bulb to continue to glow:

1. There must be a power supply that continuously provides current.

2. The circuit is connected everywhere.

Read "Gas Station" and consider the following questions

1. Causes of current flow

The directional movement of charges creates an electric current

2. Direction of current:

(1) Physics stipulates that the direction in which positive charges move is the direction of current

(2) When the power supply is connected to the circuit, the current always flows out from the positive pole of the power supply and flows into the negative pole of the power supply through wires, electrical appliances, etc.

Next we complete:

(1) What are the three basic states of the circuit? Refer to page 48 of the book and try it yourself. Discussion in the group: What are the dangers of short circuit?

(2) Recognize common circuit component symbols and be able to draw circuit diagrams of the circuits you connect. Discussion in the group: What requirements should be met when drawing a circuit diagram?

Three states of the circuit:

(1) Path: a circuit that is connected everywhere.

(2) Open circuit: A disconnected circuit.

(3) Short circuit: Connect the two poles of the power supply directly or indirectly with wires without using electrical appliances.

1. Short circuit of the power supply is never allowed. Because this will burn out the power supply.

2. It is allowed for electrical appliances to be short-circuited in some cases. For example, in Figure 1, when switch S2 is closed, the current will no longer pass through the lamp L2, but the lamp L1 can still work at this time.

We often refer to a short circuit in the power supply as "power supply short circuit", and a short circuit in electrical appliances as "electrical appliance short circuit".

When drawing a circuit diagram, pay attention to:

(1) Do not create your own circuit component symbols.

(2) The entire circuit should be rectangular. The wires should be straight and horizontal, with right angles at the corners. They should be simple, neat, beautiful, and moderately proportioned.

(3) The components should be arranged evenly, do not draw the components at the corners, and do not disconnect the wires.

(4) Make the drawn symbols correspond to the real objects, and the switch status correspond to the real objects.

How to draw a circuit diagram

1. The components should be arranged appropriately and distributed evenly;

2. The entire circuit diagram should be preferably rectangular with edges and corners, and the wires should be horizontal and vertical.

3. Do not draw components at the corners.

4. Draw in order from the positive pole to the negative pole, or from the negative pole to the positive pole.

What did you learn?

1. Basic components of the circuit.

2. Three states of the circuit.

3. Circuit component symbols and circuit diagrams.
