1. Series and parallel connection

1. A circuit in which electrical appliances are connected in sequence is called a series circuit.

2. Characteristics of series circuits:

①There is only one current path;

②Each electrical appliance affects each other;

③The switch controls all electrical appliances regardless of position.

3. A circuit in which electrical appliances are connected in parallel is called a parallel circuit.

4. Characteristics of parallel circuits:

①There are two (or more) current paths;

②Each electrical appliance works independently without affecting each other;

③The switch of the main circuit controls the entire main circuit, and the switch of the branch circuit only controls the branch circuit.
