1. Purpose requirements

2. Utensils

Collection box (or plastic bag), specimen clips, pruning shears, root digging shovel, rope, number plate, label, absorbent paper (straw paper or old newspaper), table paper, cover paper, tweezers, pencil.

Plant specimen preparation steps

1. Collection

1. Herbs should be collected from complete plants.

2. Woody plants should be collected from branches with leaves, flowers or fruits.

3. Put a number tag on the collected specimens

4. Gently put the collected specimens into the collection box (or plastic bag).

5. Pay attention to safety when collecting specimens. Do not eat indiscriminately to prevent poisoning.

2. Pressing of wax leaf specimens

1. As soon as possible, place the sorted specimens on several layers of easily absorbent paper, flatten the front of the leaves and flowers upwards (the backs of a few leaves and flowers should be flattened upwards), and then cover with several layers of paper.

2. Stack the specimens layer by layer, clamp and tie them tightly with specimen clips, and place them in a shaded and ventilated place.

3. At regular intervals, replace the damp paper in the specimen holder with dry paper, and reshape the specimen at the same time to ensure that the specimen dries as quickly as possible.

The replaced wet paper should be dried or dried in time to prepare for the next paper change.

4. Disinfection (completed by teachers or parents):

The method is to put the dried specimens into a sterilization box, place dichlorvos or a mixture of carbon tetrachloride and carbon disulfide in a glass dish, and use gas to fumigate the insects or eggs on the specimens. After about 3 days, the stage paper can be removed. .
