We use a fixed pulley and a movable pulley to assemble the simplest pulley block.

Use this pulley block to lift objects of different weights. Observe the direction of the force and measure the magnitude of the force.

We use multiple fixed pulleys and multiple movable pulleys to assemble a pulley block.

What will be the function of such a pulley block? Make our conjectures and test them experimentally.

Fun game.

Find a long rope and two smooth wooden sticks. Tie one end of the rope to one of the sticks, then loop it one and a half or two times between the two sticks.

Two students each hold a wooden stick, one student pulls the free end of the rope, and the three of them exert force at the same time. Continue the game by wrapping the rope around the stick more times.
