sell out is an intransitive phrase, meaning "to sell out." For example:

Football games often sell out well in advance.

Sleeping bags sold out almost immediately.

Tickets for the show sold out in 70 minutes.

sell out of is a transitive phrase, meaning "sell out, sell out". For example:

We have sold out of the books.

All the bikes are sold out of in a day.

The store wants to sell out all of its winter clothes to make room for the summer ones.

2. Everyone thinks it’s too dangerous to do homework on a bicycle, so nobody bought it.

Everyone thought it was too dangerous to do homework while riding a bike, so no one bought it.

It too dangerous to do sth. means "it is too dangerous to do...", it is the formal subject, and the real subject is the following infinitive phrase. For example:

It’s too dangerous to play on the street.

It’s too dangerous to swim in that river.
