"Growing Our Plants" Growth Changes of Plants PPT

Part One: Sowing

The whole year begins with spring, and spring is a good season for sowing. Let’s start planting impatiens now!

Sowing method:

1. Selection of seeds. Choose seeds that are plump and undamaged.

2. Flowerpot and soil. Choose a suitable flowerpot and place a small tile on the flower's water outlet to prevent water accumulation in the flowerpot from rotting the impatiens seeds. Put an appropriate amount of loose, fertile soil.

3. Sow seeds. Use your fingers to make 2-3 small holes in the soil, about 1 cm deep, put 1 impatiens seed in each small hole, and then cover it with soil.

4. Water. Pour enough water into the pot to moisten the soil and place it in a warm place.

Guess what happens to the seeds that are sown in the soil? How can we see the changes of seeds in the soil?

1. Place a few layers of paper on the inner wall of a transparent glass, add some soil, and make the paper towel stick to the wall of the cup.

2. Place the impatiens seeds between the cup wall and the paper (place the seeds in different directions).

3. Pour an appropriate amount of water into the soil and do not let the seeds soak in the water.

After planting, pay attention to observe and record the growth changes of the seeds in the transparent glass:

What grows from the seed comes first, and then comes what comes out.

The direction of growth of the roots of seeds placed in different directions.

Measure the root length once a day and record it.

Impatiens seeds emerge from the soil within a few days.

What does a freshly unearthed impatiens look like.

What do impatiens look like two days after being unearthed.

Measure and record the height of your impatiens regularly.

Observe and record the shape and number of impatiens leaves.

Planting is a long-term observation and research activity that requires management, observation, recording and other tasks.

①Remember from the time of sowing;

② Generally recorded once a week;

③ Record several key times in the growth and change process: sowing, rooting, germination, buds, flowering, fruiting, and maturity. The above times must be recorded accurately, preferably with photos or drawings;
