Jane is married❹ and has two children. She likes to watch her elevenyearold son play soccer. From her wheelchair, Jane cheers❺ as her son runs and kicks the ball.

eg: She was so angry that she was unable to speak.

She was so angry that she couldn't even speak.

The synonymous phrase of be unable to is: be not able to; its antonymous phrase is be able to "can; will". In these phrases, to is followed by the base form of the verb.

The boy is unable/not able to reach the apple.

The boy couldn't reach the apple.

Unable is formed by adding the negative prefix un before able.
