◆If the subject is composed of "determiner + kind/type/sort of + noun", the subsequent verb form follows the following rules:

3.Each line has a set number of words.
A number of means "some", which is synonymous with some or several, and is often followed by a plural countable noun. When a number of phrase is used as the subject, the predicate verb is often in plural form. The set in the sentence is a past participle that functions as an adjective, meaning "fixed, specified" and modifies the following noun number.
[Expansion] the number of means "the number of...", followed by the plural noun. When the number of phrase is used as the subject, the predicate verb uses the singular form.
4.Let’s look at another two poems as examples.
Another two poems means "another two poems" and is synonymous with two more poems. "another + numeral + plural noun" is equivalent to "numeral + more + plural noun", which means "a few more...".
