"Past and Present" PPT, the third part: Grammar
The present perfect tense is formed by the auxiliary verb have (has) + past participle.
The present perfect tense expresses the influence or result of an action that occurred in the past on the present, or indicates an action or state that has started in the past and continues to the present, or it can also express an action or state that may continue. It is usually used with time adverbials introduced by for and since. It is also used with so far (so far), by now (until now), these days, in the last ten years, etc.
