Since then, it has become part of my life.
Grammar
When it means that the action has been completed and has a certain impact on the present, we generally use the present tense. At the same time, just, already or yet can be used to emphasize or explain respectively.
Its structure is also:
have / has + past participle of verb.
Commonly used time adverbials include:
already, just, are generally placed after have/has and are used in affirmative sentences; in negative sentences, yet is used to express "yet, not yet".
Application of for and since in present perfect tense
Both for and since can be used with the present perfect tense, but the difference is big:
(1) "for" must be followed by "time period"
He has studied English for five years.
He has been learning English for 5 years.
(2) since must be followed by “time point”
He has studied English since 1999.
He started learning English in 1999.
(3) Both can be converted
for + a period of time = since + a period of time + ago
He has been here for five weeks.
= He has been here since five weeks ago.
He has been here for five weeks.
