First of all, what kind of interrogative sentences are special interrogative sentences? Special interrogative sentences refer to interrogative sentences starting with words such as who (who), what (what), where (where), why (why), how (how). When answering special questions, you cannot use yes or no, but use falling intonation. We usually divide question words into three categories.

Interrogative pronouns: what, who, which, whose, whom

Interrogative adjective: what (which, whose) + noun

Interrogative adverbs: when, where, why, how

What is used as an interrogative pronoun and is used to form special interrogative sentences. Its usage is as follows:

①Ask for name; ②Ask for items; ③Ask for occupation;

④ what about is used to ask for opinions or information, equivalent to how about.

When what, which and whose are followed by a noun, these three interrogative words function as adjectives.

①what color asks about the color; ②what class asks which class;

③ what size Ask about the size

Such as: What color do you like?

What color do you prefer? Whose pens are these? Whose pens are these?

Questions leading to how: can be divided into two categories

a. "How...?" How can be placed at the beginning of a question alone. Asking how to do something means the method, means, health, weather... How do you go to school? (How to ask) I go to school by bus. I go to school by bus. How are you? (Ask about health) How is your health? I’m fine. Thank you! I am fine. Thank you. How is the weather today? (Ask about the weather) How is the weather today?
