He Qifang (1912-1977) poet and literary critic.

A native of Wan County, Sichuan. Graduated from Peking University. In the summer of 1938, he went to Yan'an and taught at Lu Xun Art Institute. In the same year, he joined the Communist Party of China. Later he served as the director of the Literature Department of Luyi.

From 1944 to 1947, he was sent to Chongqing twice to work under the direct leadership of Zhou Enlai. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively served as a member of the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a director and secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Writers Association, and the director of the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He was elected as a member of the first, second and third National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a representative of the third National People's Congress.
