2. Explore new knowledge

We are divided into two categories. In the first category, the quotients of all calculations are integers, and in the second category, the quotients of all calculations are decimals.

In integer division, if the quotient is an integer with no remainder, we say that the dividend is a multiple of the divisor and the quotient, which are factors of the dividend. For example, 12÷2=6, 12 is a multiple of 2 and 6, and 2 and 6 are factors of 12.

21÷21=1, 21 is a multiple of 21 and 1, and 21 and 1 are factors of 21.

20÷10=2, 20 is a multiple of 10 and 2, and 10 and 2 are factors of 20.

3. Application of knowledge

Among the four groups below, who is the factor of whom? Who is a multiple of whom?

24÷4=6, the quotient is an integer with no remainder, so 4 is a factor of 24, and 24 is a multiple of 4.

26÷13=2, the quotient is an integer with no remainder, so 13 is a factor of 26, and 26 is a multiple of 13.

75÷25=3, the quotient is an integer with no remainder, so 25 is a factor of 75, and 75 is a multiple of 25.

81÷9=9, the quotient is an integer with no remainder, so 9 is a factor of 81 and 81 is a multiple of 9.
