Step 5: Dig out the central theme. The purpose is to evaluate the main viewpoints and basic tendencies of the text, evaluate the social value and influence produced by the text, and explore the life value and the spirit of the times reflected in the text.

Step 6: Analyze expression techniques. Generally speaking, it can be considered from several perspectives, such as narration, description, lyricism, discussion and other expression methods; literary methods such as foil and scene-based lyricism; and various rhetorical methods such as word refinement, metaphor and personification. However, since news often uses a variety of expression techniques, and the reading time during exams is very limited, it is generally appropriate to analyze the most important and prominent expression techniques based on the news objects.
