First reading text
What are the characteristics of life among the rocks?
Stubborn: strong and unyielding
How did the life among the rocks move the author?
burst into tears
Thought 1
Lin Xi, who is used to seeing the harshness of the world, the warmth and coldness of human relationships, and has experienced the hardships of the world, must have had his heart hardened and cold. Why did he shed tears when he saw this little life in the cracks of the rocks? What role does this sentence play in the article?
Because they are in the same situation: they are all facing harsh reality.
It is the writing style of the article that plays the role of getting straight to the point.
Thought 2
Read the seventh paragraph of the article together and think about the existence of life among the rocks. What meaning and value does the author think it has?
① It makes the world less dead and is the basis for the survival of some lives.
②For itself, it has completed the “ability to control the environment” and optimized the species during reproduction.
③It is the noble embodiment of life and sets an example for all life.
Thought 3
Read the last three paragraphs of the article together. Do you think the article only praises weeds, dandelions and cypresses? Why?
The author meticulously describes the living conditions of wild grasses, mountain flowers, pines and cypresses among the rocks, and praises their noble spirit of not fearing hardship and tenacious struggle. The author did not write this article just to praise the life in the cracks of the rocks. The author used the life in the cracks of the rocks to praise all the lives that fight tenaciously in difficult situations. Here, "stone cracks" have taken on symbolic meaning and become a symbol of difficult life.
Difficult to understand
I hope that all life will not become miserable because it falls between the cracks of the rocks. May all life dare to seek the most difficult environment. Life is about discovering and understanding yourself in the most difficult situations, so as to temper yourself and sublimate your spiritual realm.
The four words progress one by one, pointing out the four steps for life to adapt to the environment and transform itself. Discovery: Understand one's own situation; Understanding: A comprehensive understanding of one's abilities; Tempering: tempering one's will; Sublimation: Improving one's spiritual realm.
The tenacious life between the rocks is both biological and philosophical, and it is the unity of biology and philosophy. It is also aesthetic. As an aesthetic phenomenon, it not only shows you the layers of green that decorate the barren mountains and dry ridges, it also reveals to you the beautiful and magnificent spiritual world.
Biology: The noble instinct of life in the cracks of rocks (natural attributes)
Philosophy: Life can transcend itself and become a strong person who adapts to the environment through struggle (social attribute)
Aesthetics: It has the natural beauty that adorns the mountains and the sublime beauty of the spiritual world (the unity of natural attributes and social attributes)

theme extension
From a seed, to a cluster of weeds, a cluster of small flowers, a pine and cypress, to a person's lifelong struggle, the author's thoughts are expanded layer by layer. Challenges of hardships and hardships, discovering yourself, understanding yourself, completing yourself, and sublimating your lofty spirit while adapting to the environment and overcoming difficulties.
The full text embodies the idea of pointing out topics-chanting things-expressing aspirations, and the overall-point-overall structure. At the beginning of the article, the characteristic "stubbornness" of life among the rocks is pointed out, which often moves "me" to tears and sets the emotional tone of the whole article. This is the "general". The author chose three forms of life to specifically express the tenacity of life, which is "point". On the basis of description, the meaning of life among the cracks in the rocks is revealed, which is the "summary". Finally, the author sighs from the bottom of his heart that "it is the unity of biology, philosophy and aesthetics". It is a eulogy and praise for life, and the theme is sublimated.
