About the Author

Chen Liting (1910-) was born on October 20, 1910 in Shanghai. Chinese film director and art theorist. Shanghai people. Graduated from the Higher Normal Department of Daxia University in 1930. In 1934, he served as a special writer for the film column of "Morning Post" in Shanghai, where he translated and introduced the film theories of Soviet V.I. Pudovkin and others.
