Yu Youren (1879-1964) was a Han nationality and a native of Sanyuan, Shaanxi Province. His original name was Bo Xun, and his aliases were Sao Xin, Bearded Man, and Taiping Old Man. Poet, calligrapher, politician. In the 29th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty, he was elected. In 1906, he followed Sun Yat-sen and joined the Tongmenghui. In 1910, he co-authored the "Minli Bao" with Song Jiaoren and others. In 1912, he served as deputy minister of the Ministry of Transportation of the Nanjing Provisional Government and devoted himself to the struggle against Yuan Shikai. Later, he served as president of Shanghai University and other positions. He went to Taiwan in 1949 and died in Taipei on November 10, 1964.
