The Humen Opium Destruction (June 1839) refers to the historical event in which the Qing Dynasty government appointed Lin Zexu, the Imperial Envoy, to destroy opium intensively in Humen, Guangdong. A modern Chinese national hero, he reached the first rank and was twice appointed as an imperial envoy.
