Introduction to Zhu De:

Zhu De is the Commander-in-Chief of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Like Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou, he is a revolutionary of our older generation.

At the end of April 1928, Zhu De came to Jinggangshan and successfully joined forces with the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops led by Mao Zedong, establishing the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, with Zhu De serving as its commander.

The Kuomintang focused on the Jinggangshan revolutionary base area. They wanted the Red Army to starve, freeze, and be trapped to death. In order to survive and maintain revolutionary fighting spirit, carrying food up the mountain has become a regular job for the Red Army.

That year, Commander Zhu De often personally led the soldiers down the mountain to pick up food.
