Introduction

This article is selected from "The Collected Works of Baihetang", originally titled "A Poetry to Learn from My Nephew".

[Qing Dynasty]Peng Duanshu, courtesy name Lezhai, Danling (now part of Sichuan) in the Qing Dynasty, about 1699 to about 1779, a writer of the Qing Dynasty, named Yiyi. In the 38th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1699), he focused on revitalizing education, cultivating talents, and rectifying officialdom. In the 20th year of Qianlong's reign, he resigned and returned to Sichuan. He served as lecturer and dean of Chengdu Jinjiang Academy for 20 years, and cultivated a large number of outstanding talents such as Li Tiaoyuan and Zhang Chuanshan. Together with Li Tiaoyuan and Zhang Wentao, he was known as the three talented men of Sichuan in the Qing Dynasty. He is the author of "Collection of Baihe Wentang", "Snowy Night Poetry", and "Wei Xue" (meaning to do learning). The original title is "A Poetry for My Nephew for Learning". He died of illness at the age of eighty-one in Baihetang, southern suburbs of Chengdu.
