The origin of Arbor Day

Sun Yat-sen was the first person in modern Chinese history to realize the importance of forests and advocate afforestation.

In 1979, the Fifth National People's Congress decided that March 12, the annual anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's death, would be my country's Arbor Day to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who always advocated afforestation.
