Description
"Health Care" PPT
Part One Content: Text Introduction
Today we study Lesson 24 "Ancient and Modern Virtues". The text collects some Chinese maxims and proverbs from ancient times to the present. They are divided into two parts according to their content. In this lesson we study the first part "Health Care".
Today we study "Health Care" to understand how the ancients regulated their diet and daily life to ensure health.
Health care PPT, part 2: understanding words
Daily life: refers to daily life.
Gluttony: Overeating.
Flowing water will not rot, door hinges will not be beetrooted: Flowing water will not rot, door hinges that frequently rotate will not be moth-eaten, which means that things that move frequently are not easily corroded.
What does "eat without speaking, sleep without speaking." mean?
It means that you should not talk while eating or sleeping. This is regulating your behavior.
What is the importance of "running water does not rot, door hinges do not become beetles"?
This is an analogy to illustrate the importance of exercise.
Health care PPT, the third part: text segmentation
The first part (the first natural paragraph) writes about what a person should do in daily life.
The second part (the second natural paragraph) writes about how to exercise.
Health care PPT, part 4: understanding the meaning
No words are spoken when eating, and no words are spoken when sleeping. In spring, don’t be too busy to shed clothes; in autumn, don’t be too busy to add crowns. Eat in moderation and live regularly. Don’t overeat when you’re hungry, don’t drink too much when you’re thirsty. Always open windows to let in sunlight and air to protect your health.
Translation: Don’t talk when you’re eating, and don’t talk when you’re sleeping. In spring, you should take off your clothes more slowly and dress as warmly as possible to prevent late spring cold. In autumn, you should put on clothes later to keep your body from freezing. Eat in moderation, do not overeat, and have a regular daily life. Don't eat a lot of food or drink a lot of water when you're very hungry and thirsty. Open the windows frequently to let sunlight into the house, kill germs, let the air circulate and keep the air in the house fresh, which can keep the body healthy.
It is better to prevent the disease than to cure it. The most important thing to prevent the disease is to exercise. If you want to be healthy, practice every day. Running water does not rot, and door hinges do not become beetles. Practice three-nine in winter, and practice three-in-one in summer. Sit like a bell, lie down like a bow, stand like a pine tree, and walk like the wind.
Translation: Exercise regularly to enhance the body's immunity, which is much more effective than injections and medicine. If you want to be healthy, you must exercise every day. Flowing water will not stink, and door shafts that rotate frequently will not rot. No matter how cold or hot the weather is, you should insist on physical exercise, so that your body can better acquire the ability to "accommodate the four seasons and adapt to the cold and heat". The sitting posture is like the table clock that was placed on the table in the old days. It is as stable as a bow. When sleeping, the body is straight like a bow. When standing, it is as tall and straight as a pine tree. When walking, it is as fast as the wind.

Health care PPT, part six: expansion and extension
1. Ancient and modern sages
"Ancient and Modern Virtue". Also known as "Xian Shiwen" and "Zengguang Xianwen", it is a Taoist children's enlightenment book compiled during the Ming Dynasty in China. The title of the book was first seen in the opera "The Peony Pavilion" during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. From this, it can be inferred that the book was written during the Wanli period at the latest.
"Ancient and Modern Virtue" collects various Chinese maxims and proverbs from ancient times to the present. Later, after continuous additions by literati from the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was changed into its current form, known as "Zengguang's Wise Writings of the Past", commonly known as "Ancient and Modern Wise Writings".
The author has never seen any book records. He only knows that the Confucian scholar Zhou Xitao revised it during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. It is probably the crystallization of folk creation.
2. Couple sentence
The form of the couplet is neat, well-proportioned, has a distinct rhythm, and the tone is harmonious, making it easy to remember and recite; the couplet echoes before and after, sets off each other, has sharp contrast, and the language is condensed, which can enhance the expressiveness of the language and leave a deep impression on the reader.
In general writing, it is only required that the number of words is equal, the structure is the same, and the meaning is related. It does not necessarily have to be balanced. This is called wide pairing. The rhetorical form of antithesis is most common in poetry and couplets. Duality, also known as antithesis, commonly known as pairs, refers to two sentences or phrases that are symmetrical and balanced in form and related to each other in meaning. The familiar couplet is a set of antithetical sentences. According to different meanings, duality can be divided into three types: direct pairing, oppositional pairing, and serial pairing/running pairing. For example: The clear sky is beautiful when the water is shining, and the mountains are also strange when they are empty and covered with rain (opposite - have similar meanings and complement each other. Su Shi's "Drinking the First Eyes on the Lake and the Rain Later")
If you are full, you will suffer losses, but if you are modest, you will benefit. (Opposition - opposite meanings, reflecting each other. "Shang Shu Dayu Mo")
Wild fire, in spring. (String pairs - the meanings are inherited, indicating coherence, progression, cause and effect and other relationships. (Bai Juyi's "Farewell to Fude Gu Yuancao")
Another example is "Speechless when eating, speechless when sleeping." This is a positive pairing.
