Ye Ting (1896-1946), whose original name was Xun and whose courtesy name was Xiyi, was from Huiyang, Guangdong. He was one of the founders of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Mao Zedong once called him to his face "the first commander-in-chief of the Communist Party, and the history of the people's army must start with you." In 1924, he went to study at the Eastern Labor University and Military School of the Soviet Union. Returned to China in 1925. During the First Civil Revolutionary War, he served as an independent regiment of the National Revolutionary Army.

Chen Ran (1923~1949) was born in Hebei. Joined the Communist Party of China in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War. In 1947, he served as the special branch secretary of the underground publication "Jinjinbao" led by the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China. He was arrested in April 1948 and killed by the Kuomintang opponents on October 28, 1949.
