Cen Shen (cén shén), a poet in the Tang Dynasty, was a famous frontier poet in the Tang Dynasty. He was from Jiangling, Jingzhou (now Jiangling, Hubei). Cen Shen went to Xi'an and served as the shogunate secretary of Gao Xianzhi, and this poem was written during his journey to the west.
