Introduction to the poet
Li He (790-816), a poet of the Tang Dynasty. The courtesy name is Changji, a native of Fuchang (now Yiyang, Henan). Li He is a descendant of the Tang Dynasty clan, but his family has declined. He was able to write poetry as a child. He was already famous as a teenager. When he went out to play, there was always a slave accompanying him on a donkey, carrying a broken bag of tips. Li He thought of a good poem, wrote it down and put it in his bag. After returning home, he wrote it into a poem. He was frail and sick throughout his life and died young at the age of 27.
