Luo Guanzhong, named Guanzhong, nicknamed Huhai Sanren, was a novelist in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. He extensively collected relevant Pinghua, dramas and legends, referred to Chen Shou's "Three Kingdoms" and Pei Songzhi's annotations, recreated the story of the Three Kingdoms, and created my country's first chapter-length novel "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Background introduction

"The Death of Yang Xiu" is selected from Chapter 72 of "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". The story takes place when the two military groups Cao Cao and Liu Bei are competing for the land of Hanzhong at the most intense time. At that time, Zhuge Liang had outsmarted Hanzhong. Cao Cao suffered repeated setbacks and was unwilling to fail, so he had to retreat to Xiegukou to wait for the opportunity. However, due to the active defense of Shu soldiers, it was difficult to make progress. The story of "Yang Xiu's Death" happened against this background.
