【Tang Dynasty】Du Fu
The rivers and mountains are beautiful in Chiri, and the spring breeze is fragrant with flowers and grass.
The mud melts and swallows fly, and the sand is warm and mandarin ducks sleep.
Poetic: Spring is here, and under the bright sunshine, the mountains and rivers are extremely beautiful. The spring breeze carries the fragrance of flowers and plants. The mud beside the stream melted, and the little swallows flew back and forth to build nests in the mud. Pairs of mandarin ducks sleep on the beach under the spring light, enjoying the warmth of spring.
overall perception
The first two sentences of the poem: Du Fu's poems have the characteristic of "using poetry as painting", and this quatrain is very poetic and picturesque. At the beginning of the poem, the poem focuses on the big picture, depicting the bright and beautiful spring scenery under the bright sunshine in early spring. The writing is simple and the colors are rich. "Chiri" means spring day, which is used to highlight the sunshine of early spring and dominate the whole article. At the same time, a word "Li" is used to dye "Jiangshan", which expresses the beautiful scenery of spring sunshine, green fields and streams reflecting the sun. In the second sentence, the poet further uses the warm spring breeze, the first blooming flowers, the green grass, and the rich fragrance to show the bright spring scenery. Therefore, through association, readers can feel the gentle breeze, blooming flowers, and the fragrance of flowers, and receive an immersive artistic effect.
The last two lines of the poem: The last two lines are specific scenes drawn with fine brushwork, including dynamic depictions of swallows flying and static portrayals of sleeping mandarin ducks. The busyness of the flying swallows contains the vitality of spring, while the leisurely nature of the mandarin ducks reveals the gentleness of spring. The movement and silence complement each other. The poet only feels deeply about the bright sunshine, gentle wind, and the fragrance of birds and flowers in spring. The poet can imagine the looseness of the soil and the warmth of the gravel without touching it; and the melting of the mud and the warmth of the sand deepen his understanding of the flying swallows. The visual impression of lightness and coquettishness of mandarin ducks makes the poet's whole body and mind immersed in the soft and harmonious spring spirit, expressing the beautiful praise of spring and feeling the poet's joy.
