Description
"Respiration of Green Plants" PPT
Part One: Learning Objectives
1. Describe the respiration of green plants and outline the process of respiration.
2. Explain the difference and connection between photosynthesis and respiration, and give examples of the relationship between respiration and human production and life.
3. In the process of conducting inquiry experiments, students’ abilities of guessing, reasoning, observation, generalization and creative thinking are initially developed.
4. Let students experience the general process of scientific inquiry and cultivate their rigorous, realistic, and collaborative spirit.
Teaching focus
1. Respiration phenomenon of plants;
2. Experiments to explore the respiration of plant cells;
3. The concept and significance of respiration.
Teaching difficulties
1. Design of respiration experiment;
2. Transformation of matter and energy during respiration.
Respiration of green plants PPT, part 2 content: course learning
1. Plant respiration
Complete the textbook demonstration experiment: observe the respiration phenomenon of seeds
1. There are equal amounts of germinated seeds and seeds that have been cooked and cooled to room temperature in two thermos flasks A and B. Insert a thermometer in each. After sealing for three or four hours, observe the temperature changes in the thermos flasks A and B.
2. Unplug the stoppers of A and B, put the two burning candles into the two bottles respectively, carefully observe the phenomenon, and record it.
3. In two glass bottles A and B, there are equal amounts of germinated seeds and cooked seeds that have been cooled to room temperature. After placing them in a warm place overnight, use the water-adding exhaust method to introduce the gas in the bottles into the clear lime water. In the test tube, observe the changes in lime water.
Discussion: 1) Why is experiment B set up and what is its role?
Answer: In order to explain the results of Experiment A, it serves as a comparison
2) Why can’t cooked seeds respire?
Answer: Boiled seeds are lifeless and no longer carry out life activities but cannot carry out respiration.
Combining the above three activities, exploration, experiment, observation, and analysis, we can summarize that plants absorb oxygen, release carbon dioxide, and release energy during their life processes.
2. The relationship between plant respiration and human production and life
(1) Why should grain be dried before storage?
(2) Why do we need to loosen the soil of plants frequently?
Let students discuss their answers and explain.
3. The relationship between photosynthesis and respiration
Proceeding place chloroplast mitochondria
Light requirements: Can be carried out under light, with or without light
Material changes: synthesis of inorganic matter into organic matter, decomposition of organic matter into inorganic matter
Energy changes Store energy Release energy
Respiration of green plants PPT, part three: compliance testing
1. The gas released by the germinated seeds in the bottle can extinguish the burning flame. This is because ( ).
A. Respiration, consuming oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide
B. Respiration, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen
C. Photosynthesis, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen
D. Photosynthesis, absorbing oxygen, exhaling carbon dioxide
2. The substance that can make clear lime water turbid is ( )
A. Water B. Oxygen C. carbon dioxide D. nitrogen
3. A large amount of heat will be generated in the humid rice pile, and the physiological activities related to this are ().
A.Photosynthesis B.Respiration
4. The formula that correctly expresses the respiration process is ( ).
A. Water + carbon dioxide → organic matter + oxygen + energy
B. Oxygen + organic matter → carbon dioxide + water + energy
C. Organic matter + carbon dioxide → water + oxygen + energy
D. Water + oxygen → organic matter + carbon dioxide + energy
