Low-carbon life PPT, part 2: controlling greenhouse gas emissions

In December 1997, the participating countries of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change formulated the "Kyoto Protocol", whose goal is to "stabilize the greenhouse gas content in the atmosphere at an appropriate level, thereby preventing drastic climate changes from causing harm to humans." The Kyoto Protocol came into effect in February 2005. This was the first time in human history that greenhouse gas emissions were restricted in the form of regulations. About Earth Hour
