Su Shuyang (1938~) is a contemporary writer with the pen names Shu Yang and Yu Pingfu. A native of Baoding, Hebei Province. Graduated from the Party History Department of Renmin University of China in 1960. Taught at Renmin University of China, Hebei Beijing Normal University, and Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 1978, he served as a screenwriter at Beijing Film Studio. After 1979, he served as a director of the Chinese Writers Association and a director of the Chinese Filmmakers Association. In 1991, he received the lifelong allowance for experts from the State Council. His drama "Lord's Heart" won the first prize for performance creation in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
