Description
"The Little Match Girl" PPT courseware 16
Andersen (1805-1875), a famous Danish fairy tale writer and poet in the 19th century, is also one of the representatives of fairy tales in world literature. He was born into a poor shoemaker's family in Odense and lived in poverty during his childhood. In his early years, he studied at a charity school and worked as an apprentice. Influenced by his father and folk oral literature, he loved literature since childhood. In 1828, he entered the University of Copenhagen. After graduation, I did not find a job and mainly relied on royalties to make a living. He began writing fairy tales in 1835. After eight years of struggle, he finally showed his talent in the poetic drama "Alfsol". Andersen received royal tributes during his lifetime and was highly praised for bringing joy to a generation of children across Europe. His work "Andersen's Fairy Tales" has been translated into more than 150 languages, and thousands of fairy tale books have been released and published around the world.
Exercise: Please write down several fairy tales by Andersen that you are familiar with.
Reference: Andersen's most famous fairy tales include "The Little Tin Soldier", "The Daughter of the Sea", "Thumbelina", "The Little Match Girl", "The Ugly Duckling", "The Emperor's New Clothes", etc.
1. Read the full text quickly and summarize the main content of the article.
Answer: This article tells the story of a little match girl who froze to death on the street on New Year's Eve.
2. Read the text silently and talk about what the little girl sees every time she lights a match. What do you experience from it?
Answer: The little girl lit the match 5 times in total. The first time she saw a big stove, the second time she saw food, the third time she saw a Christmas tree and colorful pictures, the fourth time she saw her grandmother who loved her, and the fifth time she struck the whole match. She seemed to be touched by her grandmother. He held him in his arms and flew away. From what the little girl sees, you can realize that the little girl is cold and hungry, and no one can love her. She can only enjoy these things she deserves in her fantasy.
3. “Fly to the place where there is no cold, no hunger, and no pain.” Please explain your understanding of this sentence based on the context.
Answer: This sentence was imagined by the little girl. It shows that the real society where the little girl lives is only cold, hungry and painful. The only way to achieve "no cold, no hunger, and no pain" is to overthrow the social system in which people exploit people.
4. "She was so happy, following her grandma to the happiness of the New Year." How do you understand the two "happiness" in this sentence, and what do you experience from it?
Answer: The former "happiness" means that the little girl spent her time in beautiful fantasies before she died, and is happy; the latter "happiness" means that the little girl died with good wishes. Through these two "happiness", we can experience the author's suppressed grief and indignation, his deep sympathy for the poor people and his strong dissatisfaction with the social reality of the disparity between rich and poor.
