(Hit an animal)
Today we will meet a little gecko with a broken tail. He is busy borrowing his tail. Let’s go into the text and take a look!
Gecko: Gecko is a reptile, formerly known as gecko, also called scorpion tiger. It has a flat body, short limbs, suckers on its toes, can crawl on walls, and a long tail. Eating mosquitoes, flies, moths and other small insects is beneficial to humans.
Why can a gecko's tail still grow even if it's broken?
When a gecko encounters an enemy attack, its muscles contract violently, causing its tail to break off. The newly severed tail keeps moving because its nerves are not dead, so that it can use the clone technique to protect itself and escape. At the same time, there is a hormone in the gecko's body that can regenerate its tail. When the gecko's tail is broken, it will secrete this hormone to make the tail grow back. When the tail grows back, it will stop secreting it.
