Description
"Lion and Deer" PPT (first lesson)
Part One: Getting closer to the author
Aesop: (approximately 620 BC ~ 560 BC) an ancient Greek fabler in the 6th century BC who lived in Asia Minor. He, together with Krylov, La Fontaine and Lessing, are known as the four great fabulists in the world. He was once a slave of the Yademon family on Samos Island and was resold many times, but because of his profound knowledge and intelligence, he finally gained freedom. After his freedom, Aesop began to travel around the world and tell people his philosophical tales. His fables were deeply loved by the ancient Greek people. At the end of the 5th century BC, the name "Aesop" was already a well-known name in ancient Greece, and all ancient Greek fables at that time were attributed to his name.
"Aesop's Fables" is said to have been written by Aesop, an ancient Greek slave who was freed in the sixth century BC. It collects all ancient Greek folktales and adds Indian, Arabic and Christian stories, totaling 357 chapters.
Most of the stories are satirical by comparing humans to animals. The now common "Aesop's Fables" were compiled by later generations based on the fables collected and compiled by Planudes, a monk scholar in the Eastern Roman Empire, and the ancient Greek fable manuscripts that were later discovered one after another.

This article tells the story of a deer encountering a lion in the jungle and struggling to escape. Normally, deer admire their beautiful antlers and complain about their four unsightly slender legs.
