Liu Tianhua

A native of Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. A great master of modern Chinese national music, he is an outstanding Chinese composer, performer and music educator of national instrumental music who is "good at both Chinese and Western music, both theoretical and artistic, and able to understand both".

The creative source of Guangming Xing

There was a trend of thought after the "May 4th" New Culture Movement, which was created in 1931. This piece is a landmark work in the history of erhu music development. It was intended to refute the view of some people at the time that Chinese music was languid and weak.

The tone is majestic, the momentum is heroic, and the passion is unrestrained. It is a confident and positive work. "Guangming Xing" can be said to be China's first "Erhu March". It enabled the Erhu, which was originally good at playing sad and angry emotions, to start playing warm and majestic music. This was a revolutionary change in the history of the Erhu.

Huang Zi

Huang Zi (1904-1938) was born in Chuansha, Jiangsu Province (now part of Shanghai). He was an important composer and music educator in China in the 1930s. He studied composition at Oberlin College and Yale University Music School in the United States in his early years. He returned to China in 1929 and taught successively in the Music Department of Shanghai Hujiang University and the Theory and Composition Group of the National Music College. He also served as the academic director of the Music College. He was enthusiastic about music education and was the founder of China's early music education with the greatest influence.

His main works include the orchestral music "Nostalgia", the oratorio "Song of Everlasting Sorrow", the chorus "Song of Resistance against the Enemy", "The Flag is Flying", the songs "Hot Blood", "September 18th", and the art song "Dian Lips" , "Spring Thoughts", "Homesickness", "Three Wishes of a Rose", etc.

The four major disciples: He Luting, Jiang Dingxian, Chen Tianhe, and Liu Xue'an.

The singer under the iron heel

He profoundly revealed the lofty patriotic enthusiasm contained in this singer's heart. This song successfully created a typical image of a kind-hearted Chinese woman who was tortured by life under the oppression of the three mountains in China in the 1930s.
