About the Author

Ting Zhaozhong (1936-) Chinese-American physicist. Born in the United States on January 27, 1936. Three months later, he returned to China with his parents. He went to the University of Michigan to study in the United States in 1956, receiving a master's degree in science in 1960 and a doctorate in philosophy (physics) in 1962. In 1963, as a Ford Foundation graduate student, he went to the European Nuclear Research Center in Geneva, Switzerland, to engage in atomic bomb research.
