Topography and relief characteristics: The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The west, north and northeast are surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the southeast is a plain that gently slopes toward the Bohai Sea.

Climate characteristics: Temperate monsoon climate with four distinct seasons, long winter and summer, short spring and autumn.

The Badaling Great Wall is located at the north entrance of the Guangou Ancient Road in Jundushan, Yanqing County, Beijing. Known in history as one of the Nine Fortresses in the World, it is the essence of the Great Wall and is uniquely representative among the Great Walls of the Ming Dynasty. The Badaling Great Wall is famous both at home and abroad, and is famous all over the world. It is the earliest section of the Great Wall open to tourists. "If you don't visit the Great Wall, you are not a true man."

The Forbidden City in Beijing is located on the north side of Tiananmen Square in the center of Beijing. It was formerly known as the Forbidden City. Built in the 18th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1420), it was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, where 24 emperors of the two dynasties handled government affairs and daily life. It is the essence of Han palace architecture, an unparalleled masterpiece of ancient architecture, and the largest and most complete ancient building complex with wooden structure in the world. The entire building of the Forbidden City is composed of two parts: the "Front Dynasty" and the "Inner Court". There is a door on each side. To the south is the Meridian Gate, which is the main entrance of the Forbidden City. It is known as the first of the five major palaces in the world (Forbidden City in Beijing, Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom, the White House in the United States and the Kremlin in Russia).
