What is stem propagation

Propagation by cuttings

(4) Soil layering

(5) Air layering

Ordinary layering: suitable for plants with soft branches and vines or tree species with many easy-to-bend branches near the ground (e.g. magnolia, wax plum, etc.). Bend the 1 to 2-year-old branches of the mother plant near the ground in all directions, cut the bottom and press it into the hole. Fix it with a hook, and compact it with soil. The branches will be exposed slightly vertically upwards from the ground and tied to a support.

Horizontal layering: suitable for tree species with long branches and easy rooting (such as climbing roses, etc.). Dig a shallow trench along the main branch, score the branches at appropriate intervals and fix them horizontally in the trench. Remove the downward-growing buds on the branches and fill them with soil. After taking root and sprouting, cut them off one by one at the internodes, and each seedling will have a section of the mother body attached to it.
