Comparative form of adjectives and adverbs

Most adjectives and adverbs have three levels:

Prime, that is, the original form, comparative, meaning "more..."; "more..."

1. Comparative forms of adjectives

Composition rule changes:

1. Usually add — er eg. at the end of the word.

cold – colder

old — older

2. When there is only one consonant at the end of a stressed closed syllable word, first double-write the consonant and add -er.

big – bigger

thin – thinner

3. For two-syllable words ending with "consonant + y", first change y to i, then add -er.

easy – easier

happy – happier

2. The use of comparative forms of adjectives

1. Express the comparison between two people or things.

eg. I am taller than Tom.

My dress is more beautiful than hers.

The blue ruler is long.

The red ruler is longer,

The red ruler is longer than the blue ruler.

4.big How feet are yours
