Part 1: Definition of cells

What is the difference between bacteria and cells?

Bacteria do not have a nucleus, cells have a nucleus

Part 2: How to use a microscope

1. Taking the mirror and placing it

1. Hold the mirror arm with your right hand and support the mirror base with your left hand.

2. Place the microscope on the experimental table, slightly to the left (the microscope is placed about 7 cm from the edge of the experimental table). Install the eyepiece and objective lens.

2. Aiming at the light

3． Rotate the converter to align the low-magnification objective lens with the clear aperture (the front end of the objective lens should be kept 2 cm away from the stage).

4． Aim a larger aperture at the clear aperture. Keep your left eye looking into the eyepiece (open your right eye to facilitate drawing at the same time later). Rotate the reflector so that the light is reflected into the lens barrel through the light hole. Through the eyepiece, you can see a bright white field of view.

3. Observation

5. Place the slide specimen to be observed (it can also be made from a thin piece of paper with a "6" printed on it) on the stage and press it with a slide clamp. The specimen should be facing the center of the light hole.

6. Turn the coarse focus screw to slowly lower the lens barrel until the objective lens is close to the slide specimen (look at the objective lens to prevent the objective lens from touching the slide specimen).

7. Look into the eyepiece with your left eye, and at the same time, turn the coarse focus screw in the opposite direction to slowly raise the lens barrel until you can see the object image clearly. Then turn the fine focus screw slightly to make the object image you see clearer.

8. Use of high-power objective lenses: Before using high-power objective lenses, you must first use a low-power objective lens to find the object to be observed, adjust it to the center of the field of view, then turn the converter and change to a high-power lens. After switching to a high-power lens, the field of view becomes brighter and darker, so generally choose a larger aperture and use the concave surface of the reflector, and then adjust the fine focus screw. The number of objects viewed becomes smaller, but their size increases.
