Returns the inverse function of the gamma cumulative distribution function. If P = GAMMADIST(x,...), then GAMMAINV(p,...) = x. Use this function to study variables that may have skewed distributions.
GrammarGAMMAINV(probability,alpha,beta)
Probability Probability associated with the gamma distribution.
Alpha distribution parameter.
Beta distribution parameters. If beta = 1, GAMMAINV returns the standard gamma distribution.
If any parameter is non-numeric, GAMMAINV returns the #VALUE! error value.
If alpha ≤ 0 or beta ≤ 0, GAMMAINV returns the #NUM! error value.
If a probability value is given, GAMMAINV solves for the value x using GAMMADIST(x, alpha, beta, TRUE) = probability.
Therefore, the precision of GAMMAINV depends on the precision of GAMMADIST. GAMMAINV uses iterative search techniques.
If the search does not converge after 100 iterations, the function returns the #N/A error value.
