  • Case

Calculate the interest to be paid over a specific investment period.

SyntaxISPMT(rate, per, nper,pv) rate is the interest rate per period. The number of periods used to calculate the interest amount must be between 1 and nper. nper is the total investment period, which is the total number of payment periods for the investment. pv is the current value of the investment. For loans, pv is the loan amount.

Explanation•Consistency of the specified rate and nper units should be verified. For example, for the same four-year loan with an annual interest rate of 12%, if paid monthly, the rate should be 12%/12 and nper should be 4*12; if paid annually, the rate should be 12% and nper 4. •For all parameters, negative numbers represent cash disbursements (such as deposits or withdrawals from others), and positive numbers represent cash receipts (such as dividends or deposits from others). •For additional information on financial functions, see PV Functions.
