Generally, we use fonts from the design institute. Those fonts are not included in the installed CAD. Just copy them and copy them to the font folder in the CAD installation directory.
I often see CAD drawings and when I open them it says "SHX file is missing". Do you know how to solve it?
Missing fonts need to be replaced with these:
[gbcbig.shx] National standard gb Chinese characters chinese big font
[gbenor.shx] National standard gb English english ordinary normal font
If I choose to ignore and continue
Then what you have to face next may be a bunch of garbled codes
Let’s solve it now
The most common situation of missing fonts is the lack of HZTXT.SHX font. The easiest way is to download it and put it in the CAD installation folder address [Fonts] folder.

2 Of course, what you are missing may not be the HZTXT.SHX font. Sometimes there are drawings that contain rare fonts. You can go to the website to download more rare fonts. Put it on your computer and you won’t be short of any fonts in the future.
Rare fonts like the picture below can also be organized and stored in the computer.
3 If you don’t want to download anything, you can also set it through [Font Mapping], but this only solves the problem of missing hztxt font. Do this:
Enter Command OP, open the options dialog box, find [Font Mapping File], then select this address, and click with the left mouse button. Copy it.
Open a folder or browser and paste the address into the address bar:
Press Enter to open it, and then add a line of characters at the end: hztxt;gbcbig.shx
Save and then restart CAD.
Another method is:
The simplest and crudest way is to choose a font file you like-for example, HZTXT.SHX-and copy it to the desktop; copy the fonts directory under the CAD installation directory Create a shortcut on the desktop; when prompted about a missing font, directly change HZTXT.SHX to the name of the font file and drag and drop it onto the shortcut. About 20 years ago, when I used CAD on DOS, I could copy it with just one command, and I never worried about the lack of fonts.
Use mini cad to view pictures, there is no shortage of fonts!
